“A South Pacific Love story” is about the odyssey of a young man Jean-Paul, who searches for love, his heritage, and his true identity in the South Pacific Islands. His journey takes the reader into this exotic world we sometimes only dream about. It also transcends you into acculturation with the islanders who not only become his loyal friends, but also leads the way to find his heritage. Apropos to the aesthetic descriptions of the islands, the author simultaneously engages the reader with pictures from these beautiful places.

The story begins by describing a true savant’s menu which will permeate deep into your taste buds. But no, this is not only about wetting your appetite. It is also about the journey of Rashad and Syisha that own the Inn and Restaurant on the Island of Bora-Bora, and their struggle with Syisha’s ex-husband Don, who touches on the non compos mentis. Rashad, the narrator, has experienced a very moving tragedy of his own when he lost his young wife in an aircraft accident in Tanzania. He moves to the Pacific Islands with his daughter Yani to start a new life. His daughter also plays a major role in Jean-Paul’s life. A powerful struggle between Don and Syisha almost cost her, her life. Albeit, the latter might move you to a tear or two, the author assuages her reader with a love story that will forever be embedded in their heart and soul.

The beautiful and descriptive photographs will lure the reader into an adventure of their own. This book is intended for a myriad of markets, as it is not only a very moving love story, but also a depiction of life in the South Pacific Islands. About the Author

Trude Adriaan was born in South Africa where she started her career as an English Language teacher. Her love for foreign languages and traveling brought about many adventures and challenges. She studied and lived abroad for many years. She settled down in the United States after working in Holland, England and Spain as a translator and English teacher. Her travels included Europe, the South-Pacific Islands, Africa and South America.

The United States brought forth many new interests in her world of adventures. During this period she and a business partner also invested in a gourmet restaurant that attained five stars during their rein. Many of the menus in her book are true reflections from that time. She has taught Foreign Languages and Literature for many years and is at present working on her second book and third book. After living in Massachusetts for twenty years, she moved to Naples, Florida where she now resides.
